Shake It Up Baby at the International Milkshake Bar for Kids!

There are two things in this One World that we all know can be hard: getting kids to drink their milk and keeping them occupied at a wedding. We’ve come up with a solution that solves both of these predicaments. Our milkshake bar keeps kids involved, entertained, and educated—all things that can happen at your wedding!

At our International Milkshake Bar, a child chooses from a variety of milks to start with: whole, skim, soy or oat milk. With the assistance of an “MBA” or (Milkshake Bar Attendant) she then chooses from a variety of international ice creams, sorbets, and sherbets with flavors such as Mango Lassi from India, Nutella Gelatto from Italy and Vanilla Bean Dulce de Leche from Mexico. Instead of a standard menu, flavor choices are displayed on a map with fun facts about each country, so children get a geography lesson as well as a tasty dessert.

Once a child has chosen the ingredients for their shake, the real fun begins. For example, Sally needs to be occupied at her uncle’s wedding reception. She chooses whole milk and Nutella Gelato for her shake. The MBA combines all of the ingredients and music begins when he turns on the blender. Songs like “Twist & Shout” play through the speakers. Sally sings along exclaiming “shake it up baby, yeah” while she dances to the Beatles and the sound of her milkshake mixing in the blender.

When the music is finished and the milkshake is ready, the MBA pours Sally’s Nutella Gelato Shake into a plastic hurricane glass and offers her garnishes such as French Chantilly Cream and bite-sized Australian Anzac Cookies. Topped off with a cherry and a curly straw, Sally has her very own Milkshake Mocktail to drink responsibly!

This is a great idea! You will find adults wandering over to the bar too!

I have attended large parties, in which the children had their own buffett. The large table was lowered, so the children could help themselves to the goodies: baby hot dogs, small hamburgers, macaroni & cheese, fries, & jello. There were plenty of adult there too!
