Letter From The Editor:

I have always been fascinated by Pangaea, the super continent that existed hundreds of millions of years ago. At that time, the world was one. As the continents evolved a separation was inevitable, but through migration and mobility, ethnic and cultural seeds were spread. From spices to grapevines, people brought commodities from the Old World to the New World, and these things became an inherent part of everyday life, each culture adapting them as they saw fit.

In today’s mobile society we have the opportunity to travel and live abroad, gaining a worldwide perspective. We live in a global marketplace where communication is instantaneous, granting the impression that the world is flat. Whether we are first generation immigrants to America, or our ancestors immigrated here hundreds of years ago, we all come from somewhere else. One World Weddings™ is a modern approach to wedding planning in our melting pot society—a maze of ethnic and cultural lines that blur more and more with every generation.

In fact, I myself had my very own One World Wedding™ 25 years ago. My husband and I had an Italian Catholic-German Jewish wedding—we served meatballs and matzo balls!

Here in Chicago, Entertaining Company has helped more than 30 couples plan their own One World Wedding™, from inception to completion.
